You may be finding life difficult at the moment and struggling to manage your emotional and mental health, as a counsellor I can offer you a safe and confidential space to explore and unpick your thoughts and feelings, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and build your confidence to make the changes you want. Sometimes in life when you find things are hard and feel you can’t cope, talking to a counsellor can help you gain new perspectives, and as your counsellor, I would welcome you to talk openly about what is troubling you – I am always guided by my clients, so whatever you want to bring to your sessions are your choice.

This may be your first time seeking support from a counsellor, and I understand that this can be a scary step, to recognise you may need some support and to reach out for this support is the first step. I would like to reassure you that you don’t have to do it alone, we would work through your counselling journey together.

Is Counselling for you?

Are you feeling alone? Are you struggling with depression? Do you battle with intrusive thoughts? Is your anger getting the best of you? Do you struggle to make decisions? Are you having a hard time believing in yourself? Are you a parent who needs some support? If yes then the support is here for you.

I have worked with a range of people and have counselled clients who have struggled with a variety of mental health struggles. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to know more about how we would work together.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

My own journey into counselling

I made a decision back in 2010 to train as a counsellor and undertake my own therapy, this was a decision that I am very happy I took. I’ve experienced my own challenges in my life, and counselling really helped me to see things with a different perspective, it gave me a whole new insight into how I cope with things, and how I view the world. Counselling can be life changing, part of the reason I am so passionate about it, is the fact that as a counsellor I feel privileged to be able to sit with another whilst they share their story with me, in turn helping my clients find their way through their own struggles, challenges and difficulties.

In 2013 I qualified as a counsellor, and since then I have worked with adults, children and young people in school settings and in private practice. I have also worked with families and offer parenting support, if this is something you would like to find out more about, please do ask. My training was primarily in person centred counselling, however, since qualifying I have undertaken numerous training in various therapeutic approaches, some include, sandtray therapy, counselling children and young people, gestalt training and CBT. I am constantly learning new ways of working. Being a registered member of the BACP, means I follow and adhere to the ethical guidelines and have regular clinical supervision.

What am I doing now?

Currently, as well as my private practice, I am working in a large secondary school, with around 2000 students, offering a counselling service to children and young people, from the ages of 11 – 18 years.

I have a passion for my work and love building relationships with my clients to help them achieve what it is they feel they need from counselling. Watching my clients personal growth and confidence grow and develop is such a rewarding part of being a counsellor.

I offer face to face and online/telephone counselling sessions. My work involves working with adults, children, and young people. I can offer parent and child sessions should this be something that supports the counselling process.
